SST-304 is an austenitic chromium nickel stainless steel.SST-304 has excellent corrosion resistance against a wide variety of chemical corrodents and industrial atmospheres.SST-304 is immune to foods, most organic chemicals, many inorganic chemicals, hot petroleum products steam and combustion gasses. Maximum corrosion resistance is obtained in the annealed condition.
SST-316 is an austenitic stainless steel containing molybdenum for superior corrosion resistance to the other chromium nickel stainless steels. SST-316 is more resistant to atmospheric and general corrosive conditions than any other standard stainless steels. SST-316 has better corrosion resistance in sulphurous acid, brine solutions and phosphoric acid than SST-304.
